What Does the Bible Say About Witchcraft?

Children are exposed to the occult through TV, films, books, friends, video games, and other influences.  It is often difficult for Christian parents to discern what is okay and what is not okay for their children to see or read.

There’s nothing new under the sun, and there’s nothing new about New Age spirituality.  The  difference between ancient times and now is the terminology.  For example, “consulting the dead” is now “channeling.”  An evil spirit or a “familiar spirit” is called a “spirit guide.”

Ouija boards are sold as toys.  People (and children) playing “the game” are participating as spirit mediums, often without realizing it.

What can parents do to protect their children from the occult?  In Exodus 33: 13, Moses asks God to teach him His ways.  Likewise, we should learn the ways of the Lord and teach them to our children.  Teach them the Ten Commandments.  Teach them “to love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength.”  Teach them to “love your neighbor as yourself.”  Read scripture to them.  Teach them the difference between the holy and the profane.  Show them the way of salvation through Jesus Christ.
