Yom Terauh, Feasts of Trumpets, is one of God’s Appointed Times. (See Leviticus 23: 23-25.) Like the other feasts listed in Leviticus 23, it is prophetic in nature–a dress rehearsal for a future event. Paul is referring to Yom Terauh in I Thessalonians 4: 16-17 when he says, “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (NIV).
